JOB PURPOSE

Within Business and Regulatory Assurance (BRA), our key objective is to help firms raise standards thereby enabling them to safeguard their reputation, mitigate regulatory risk and drive better outcomes for their business and customers.

A Principal Consultant is responsible for defining, designing and delivering one of RBAs core services; for proactive business development in relation to the core service; and for reactive secondary service line development. The current five core services are:

•             Paraplanning

•             Business Quality Assurance

•             Past Business Review and Remediation

•             Transforming Customer Outcomes and Experience

•             Collections and Recoveries

  • Reporting to the Head of Delivery, a Principal Consultant is also a member of the senior management team in RBA
  • Tasks
  • Be an ambassador for Huntswood across the industry and lead on regulatory, client and industry stakeholder relationships
  • Lead and manage a core service, continually reviewing, adapting and developing it in order to achieve the financial targets set out in the core service plan
  • Build and maintain an elite contractor pool for core service line they are responsible for in order to deliver sustainable and flexible resource provision
  • Act as a mentor for Senior Consultants and Consultants as appropriate
  •  
  • Responsible for identifying, initiating and leading sales bids and other business development activities
  • Responsible for implementation of standards in risk management, cost control and resource utilisation
  • Act as engagement manager on large and complex projects whilst supervise large teams, having responsible for quality, profit and project planning and engagement risks
  • Play an active role in account management with client organisations
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including CCO Team, Legal and resourcing

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Delivery on financial and organisational targets in line with the agreed RBA 4 year business plan
  • Development of good working relationships with other key stakeholders across the business to ensure a joined up and collaborative proposition
  • Continual development of the reputation of RBA through diverse media including client meetings and networking, external publications, attendance at events
  • Line management responsibilities, (internal communications, and career and performance development)

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Expert knowledge and experience in Retail Conduct Risk related issues
  • Comprehensive and detailed understanding of the FCA including both current and emerging issues affecting firms
  • A strong track record of leading regulatory teams and projects
  • Experience of liaising at a senior level to form strong working relationships and facilitate the running of advisory projects
  • Broad knowledge of UK Retail Financial Services, including regulation, market and competitor activity and industry trends
  • Experience of translating operational requirements into delivery solutions
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong project and organisational skills
  • Holder of Financial Services Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
