To further enhance the diversity of our team, we particularly encourage applications from female candidates.

support the Directorate’s senior management in the strategic planning for and organisation of the Directorate;
support the ECB’s decision-making bodies by providing policy analyses and advice on areas within the Division’s field of expertise;
recruit and guide staff working in the Division and foster their professional development;
foster a working environment based on trust, openness, inclusion and staff well-being, ensuring that staff remain motivated and committed to achieving the goals set and that they have the skills required to do so;
propose, promote and supervise projects led by the RAN Division on an ongoing basis and act as a member of project steering groups for ECB or European System of Central Banks projects relevant to the Division;
represent the Division and Directorate in internal and external forums such as Eurosystem committees, networks and working groups.
Qualifications, experience and skills
a master’s degree in a field relevant to financial risk management (e.g. economics, finance, mathematics or computer science);
experience in (i) leading multicultural teams, (ii) coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders, (iii) coordinating dossiers with policy content and providing policy advice, and (iv) designing and implementing policy-relevant analysis and reporting frameworks;
knowledge of programming languages (e.g. MATLAB, Python) to a level sufficient for supervising and guiding relevant modelling-related work;
extensive professional experience in one or more relevant areas, e.g. risk management, monetary policy implementation, capital markets or banking;
an advanced command of English and an intermediate command of one other language of the European Union.
a PhD or professional certification in a relevant field;
an understanding of central bank operations, gained by working in a central bank or a relevant international public institution (e.g. the Bank for International Settlements, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group).
You will bring your ability to engage collaboratively with others, pursue team goals and draw on the strengths of a diverse team to get the best results, support the efforts of team members to develop their abilities and build up high-performing teams, facilitate change and articulate strategic priorities and scenarios for your team.
The recruitment process may include a remote written exercise at the pre-screening stage, and – if you are invited to participate further in the selection procedure – a presentation and interviews, as well as a separate assessment of your managerial and leadership competencies.
