This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Risk Manager to join Together through a period of unprecedented growth. As the Senior Risk Manager, you will assist the Head of Risk in the management of the Risk Function and in the overall achievement of its objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Risk Oversight in the day to day management of the team and act as deputy to the Head of Risk Oversight
  • Oversee departmental outputs and reporting to risk governance forums
  • Develop, implement and maintain the Risk Policies Framework, and assess and monitor compliance with Group risk policies
  • Manage and maintain the annual review and update process of risk and policy framework, including engaging with stakeholders, updating policies and managing the approval process
  • Assist policy owners with drafting policies, defining controls and assessing gaps against current practice
  • Assist in the production and maintenance of Enterprise Risk Management Framework, and the supporting risk plan
  • Assist with setting risk appetite and co-ordination across the businesses with data lead analytical approaches to setting risk appetite levels
  • Development and implementation of the ‘risk continuum' of escalation and reporting of appetite level breaches
  • Lead assessment of the level of adoption of the ERMF, and reporting to Group Executive on the implementation and progress against policy and framework deliverables
  • Undertake thematic reviews and deep dives
  • Working with the different areas of the business to coordinate & implement Enterprise Risk Management Framework activities
  • Ensure risks are assessed in line with the ERMF, and provide challenge
  • Management and oversight of the risk management system, including managing the implementation project

Essential skills and experience

  • Experienced team manager
  • Deep knowledge and experience of Enterprise Risk Management and of the financial services regulatory environment
  • An understanding of financial services industry best practices in risk management and the ability to work in a challenging, and constantly changing environment
  • General understanding of risk disciplines. Risk qualifications, whilst not essential, are preferred
  • Experience with Op Risk ICAAP and understanding of CRDIV
  • Excellent written and oral communication and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence others
