My client is a well-regarded and rapidly expanding financial services’ business who are currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer. The primary focus will be to provide advice and assistance to first-line colleagues in respect of regulatory and risk issues and the management of policies and procedures.

The role:

  • Encourage a positive compliant culture within the business through effective communications (verbal and written) with business stakeholders
  • Undertake compliance monitoring activities (planning, devising terms of reference, testing, report writing, action planning and record-keeping)
  • Engage proactively with business stakeholders to influence timely and effective remedial action in response to the outcome of monitoring activity
  • Produce and maintain effective management information
  • Support the Compliance Manager in contributing to the continuous improvement and development of the Monitoring function
  • Answer monitoring queries from across the Group
  • Keep up to date with relevant regulatory changes, along with internal business developments to ensure that all monitoring activities remain valid
  • Attend, as required, relevant external workshops/meetings to maintain awareness of developments in compliance monitoring and risk management techniques

Key Requirements-        

  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations, in particular FCA
  • Experience in a similar Compliance/Audit role
  • Full CeMAP or equivalent appropriate qualifications is preferable
  • Previous sales and/or underwriting experience in a mortgage or consumer credit role is preferable
