Description:
The regulatory reporting accountant will work alongside the financial reporting accountants within the Finance Division and assume responsibility for all the regulatory reporting requirementsPOSITION SUMMARY
Preparation of the daily FSA calculations
Preparation and submission of periodic FSA reporting statements including the annual reporting submission
Ensure compliance with the new CRD requirements
Manage the phased implementation of the Integrated Regulatory Reporting regime ensuring that appropriate systems and controls over data integrity are in place
Challenge existing approaches and processes and propose potential improvements/solutions
Establish and maintain a robust reporting framework for the new banking licensed entity, enabling the bank to meet its on-going reporting requirements and providing the requisite level of information to senior management
Close liaison with the Risk Management Group, e.g. around the on-going ICAAP and Pillar 2 & 3 requirements
Act as the in-house FSA technical expert
Provide advice on regulatory treatment on business proposals around potential structures and transactions
Interaction with the Head Office in Sydney to ensure consistency and efficiency in approach, leveraging off of work undertaken centrally where appropriate
Ad hoc tasks and project work
KEY SKILL AREAS
Strong, up to date FSA technical knowledge preferably covering both Banks and Investment Firms
Strong excel and systems skills
Well organised and methodical approach
Systems implementation experience would be advantageous
Experience of an investment banking or trading environment required
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will have detailed and up to date knowledge of the FSA rules for banking and/or investment firms and have experience of completing daily calculations and submitted periodic returns to FSA.
They must bring a practical and well-organised approach to their work and have the confidence to engage senior management and the various businesses where necessary.Project and change management experience.
