Senior Data Manager – London £28,000-30,000

The role-holder will be responsible for the investigation, development and delivery of improvements to the risk data reporting capabilities to support the delivery for both internal (Commercial Banking Executive, Risk Executive, other Risk Practices, Group Executive) and external (rating agencies, regulators) consumption.

Additionally, the role holder will be responsible for contributing to the accurate and efficient running of the monthly processes required in delivering key Risk Performance indicators.

The role will involve data development activity, business as usual activity, mentoring and teamworking and stakeholder management. It will suit applicants with in depth technical knowledge and excellent communications skills.

Skills/ competencies required to undertake the role:

• Demonstrable knowledge of a Management Information area and proven knowledge of relational databases at minimum B5 level or equivalent.
•A strong appreciation of how Risk MI is used and the influence this may have on key decision making.
•Good knowledge of the Bank’s lending systems (including if possible Barclays Capital, Barclays Sales Financing and Barclays Asset Finance, Barclays Merchant Services).
•Knowledge of various bank computer systems, e.g. Customer System, BAA, Trademanager, etc.
•A good understanding of the range of products and services offered by Barclays Commercial Banking and the systems on which information about them is recorded, as documentation is often non-existent or inadequate.
•A good knowledge of the key Commercial Banking risk methodologies.
•Familiarity with specific risk terms and concepts in everyday use across the team.
•Strong proven working knowledge of Teradata SQL
•Good working knowledge of UNIX
•Good working knowledge of BI Query
•Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel & VB
•Proven stakeholder management skills
•Able to break down large pieces of work into various sub-tasks and negotiate with other team members around responsibilities for the constituent elements. The Role-holder will be a first class organizer and highly skilled at prioritizing many differing tasks to ensure that deadlines are met. The individual will be skilled in minimizing duplication or overlaps within production and delivery schedules.
•Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines

Preferred

•Teradata Certified Professional
•Teradata Certified SQL Specialist
•Excellent working knowledge of WhiteLight Analytic and Administrator.
•Ability to link / validate source systems ‘raw’ data and front-end MI
