Description:
Working for a leading trading house in London, this busy and dynamic team are seeking to recruit an additional credit analyst to join their business.Due to the spread of their client base you will gain exposure to a broad mandate of credit counterparties which will include FI's, Large International corporates through to SME businesses. The London Credit function is a team of four and the will take responsibility for a portfolio of some 400 clients across the whole range of products traded by the firm. Furthermore, in a relatively non-hierarchical global team, it is expected that the successful candidate will have responsibility for the more complex credits which will require increased levels of client facing activities and where appropriate, international travel.
**The Role:**
- Reports to Head of Credit Risk Management for in London.
The role will comprise a key element of European and Middle East business, both from a credit risk management perspective and from the point of view of assisting in the building of the company's portfolio of customers. - Preparation of annual and new business credit reviews for sign-off under the officer?s own delegated authority or through presentation to the Global Head of Risk in New York, according to the assessed risk profile, required exposure levels and the organisation's risk appetite.
- Daily monitoring and management of potential exposure, margin & cash calls for the organisation's portfolio of names, across all its product groups.
- Close and ongoing liaison with front, back office and Credit Risk personnel to mitigate the chance of loss through client default or operational errors.
- Maintenance of all databases regarding collateral, documentation & monitoring systems- co-ordination between the New York, Chicago and Hong Kong offices where appropriate.
- Ad hoc projects as determined by senior management.
**Person Specification:** - Mature and adaptable outlook.
- Good communication and negotiation skills to ensure a balanced and satisfactory outcome to all credit related discussions.
- Relevant experience in a credit risk, credit focused relationship management or credit orientated middle office role.
- Solid understanding of credit analysis. Familiarity with financial and management accounts (profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow statements)
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Understanding of structuring and security/collateral coverage.
- An understanding of brokerage and futures markets.
- Knowledge of commodities markets beneficial
