You will assist the Assets & Liabilities Manager in the reporting of the Society’s balance sheet risks, including interest rate risk, market risk, foreign currency risk and liquidity risk, with the main responsibility involving assisting in the management of our Covered Bond programme ensuring compliance with FSA, Rating Agency and Investor requirements.
Responsible for reporting and analysing balance sheet risks, ensuring that all risks are monitored and reported in a clear and appropriate manner, you will also assist in the development of strategies and proposals for the continuous management of all balance sheet risks and prepare and distribute management information packs for the monthly ALCO and Management ALCO meetings.
You will ensure that the cover pool meets the FSA requirements for the RCB regulation by attending meetings, conference calls etc with the RCBC. The role will involve working with the rating agencies Fitch and Moody’s to assist them with requests for data, annual reviews and revisions to the Asset Percentage. Acting as secretary for the Covered Bonds Review Group quarterly meetings and monthly ACT committee meetings, producing regular Covered Bond reporting in an accurate and timely manner, the role will also involve the production and development of liquidity stress testing reports and model.
You will:
• Have at least 4 years’ experience within a Treasury/ALM function of a building society or retail bank
• Posses an in-depth knowledge and understanding of asset & liability management techniques
• Have experience of operating and developing a risk management/income simulation model, e.g. Sungard Convergence.
• Understand rating agencies, their rating structures, the Covered Bond programme and their role within this
• Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Hold a degree qualification (or equivalent) within a relevant discipline, e.g. Treasury/Economics, is desirable.
