At Nationwide, we want to give each and every customer peace of mind. And one of the ways we can do that is by monitoring and mitigating risk. Joining a small team of senior managers, you’ll oversee all operational risk within Banking and Savings.
About the role
Part of our Member Account Administration team, you’ll ensure we provide outstanding back office support to retail, focusing in particular on products such as ISAs, Savings and Bonds. This is a high profile role – you’ll be working closely with our Head of Banking and Savings to deliver risk agendas as well as influencing managers across the division. We’ll expect you to identify key risk areas – namely human error, professional fraud and system risk – and to put any mitigating actions into place. Your role also involves developing a risk framework, embedding a risk profile and promoting an avoidance culture where people are aware of and report any risk.
About you
Coming to us from a commercial or Blue Chip background, your risk experience must include time spent working in a payments environment. A fact-based approach to problem-solving is essential, as is real clarity of focus. A confident communicator, calm under pressure and flexible in your approach, you’ll need the ability to engage different people across the department and bring to life the importance of risk in their everyday work. Since the role will involve dividing your time between our main sites in Swindon, Northampton and Bournemouth, you must also be prepared for the traveling that entails.
