Description:
Risk AnalystSouth West Midlands - Junction 3, M42
With around 6.5 million policyholders and managing over £60 billion* of funds, Pearl Group Limited is a Top 10 UK Life company but with 1 big difference. Simply put, we have one mission – to improve returns for existing policyholders of closed funds, which in turn will deliver real added value to shareholders and customers alike. Through the continued development and growth of our business, we’ve become a company that takes change in its stride. Dedicated to building a long term sustainable business, you may know us through our extensive and impressive portfolio of life company brands, which include Pearl Assurance, Phoenix, London Life, NPI and Scottish Mutual International.
For any risk analyst, with the confidence to independently challenge existing practice, this represents a superb opportunity to grow your skills and expertise in a quality environment. First and foremost, the role is responsible for ensuring an appropriate market and credit risk framework is in place for our Life business - developing and implementing innovative management practices where required – whilst also enjoying hands-on responsibility for identifying, monitoring and providing guidance on new or emerging credit and market risks and their impact on asset and liability management.
As a skilled risk professional, who is used to producing financial statistics/analysis and reporting to assess and calculate market risk, you’ll demonstrate knowledge of life insurance as well as a clear understanding of the key areas of risk, including their application within the ICA. You’ll also be familiar with key capital frameworks and regulatory/reporting requirements, as well as governance, and you’ll relish the opportunity to showcase your financial modelling and credit analysis skills, which should be underpinned by a good appreciation of the bond and derivative markets, preferably relating to finance/risk, capital management or actuarial arenas.
As a Group focused on enhancing customer outcomes and experiences, we can also promise a challenging and rewarding workplace for those who join us! It all adds up to a great proposition, especially when you take into account the superb rewards and prospects, not to mention our prestigious office environment, which offers unrivalled facilities in terms of a ‘living and working’ location.
