A leading specialist recruitment group, Hays was publicly listed in the UK in 1989, and now has over 6000 employees in 840 business units ,in 355 offices, in 20 countries.The Group Audit function of this FTSE 250 company is based in the United Kingdom and is responsible for internal review activities across the global business including international operations in over 20 countries across Europe, Asia, Australasia, and the Americas
The business is expanding globally through both acquisition and organic growth into new territories and markets. Reporting to the Group Head of Audit, as part of a small audit team this high profile role has direct interaction with the Country and Regional management teams.
Due to the international nature of this role ever member of the audit team gets the opportunity to spend time overseas on what are typically short assignments, this can be 25% of the role.
The ideal candidate will have experience of operating in an audit environment preferably with a mix of both small and large company experience. Strong technical accounting skills are a prerequisite for the role.
The successful application will be highly analytical and able to deal with sometimes complex financial or non financial problems and have the communication skills to be able to explain these both face to face and in reports to both finance and non finance staff at all levels.
