This is evident in the new credit risk function, which under the direction of an inspiring Chief Risk Officer is about to embark on a recruitment drive to hire talented and motivated risk professionals to help drive analytical rigour into the business to support our ambitious growth plans.
Job Purpose
• To drive analytical rigour into the business to support profitable business growth. In particular :
• To build, develop and monitor effective scorecards / models to support credit risk and marketing strategies.
• To develop best in class ‘through the lifecycle’ credit risk MI.
• To deliver timely analytics to support business decision making.
• To develop the business data strategy including analytics database and data mining tools.
• To build and lead an analytics team.
Key Accountabilities
MODELLING
Develop and monitor credit risk scorecards, including application, behavioural and bankruptcy.
Develop and monitor models to forecast delinquency and credit losses.
Develop and monitor models support credit strategies ( eg segmentation models ).
Develop predictive models and segmentation to support marketing activity.
CREDIT RISK MI
To develop timely credit risk MI to aid senior management decision making including :
Application MI ( approvals, application quality )
Portfolio MI ( vintage performance analysis, dynamic delinquency, arrears MI, collections performance MI, etc….)
CREDIT ANALYTICS
To liaise with finance to report monthly impairment variance analysis.
To produce insight papers arising from ad hoc reviews or formal MI reviews at credit committee. To present analytical findings to risk committee.
DATA STRATEGY
To take the lead in developing the data capabilities including warehousing and data mining tools ( eg SAS ).
To liaise with suppliers and 3rd parties.
LEAD TEAM
To build and lead the analytics team.
To build effective working relationships with the business, including business units, finance, marketing, and executives.

Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
Proven experience of model building with excellent technical knowledge of statistical modelling tools and data mining and manipulation techniques.
Sound knowledge of credit risk.
Ability to communicate complex analytics to senior executives ( bringing data to life).
Experience of managing a team of analysts.
Good relationship building skills with the ability to influence at all levels
Strong personal time management and project management skills.
Degree qualified, preferably mathematics / statistics.
Preferred
Experience in tools such as SAS / SQL or similar programming languages.
Broad commercial interests and awareness.
