Description:
An excellent financial services company in the north west is looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to work in their Credit Risk Control UnitAim of Role:
Implement the credit risk strategy by design and maintenance of credit risk models, strategies and decision systems, whilst optimising the balance of risk versus reward. (Assignments will vary across Retail, Corporate & Wholesale teams depending on practice assignment, initial assignment will be within the Retail teams)
Role:
· Identify and agree requirements for information and analysis to ensure that the service provided meets requirements.
· Produce plans to deliver information and analysis needs and monitor delivery against plans to ensure all requirements are met and that actions are taken in a timely and effective manner in response to any issues or problems.
· Carry out a full range of analytical activities, using appropriate techniques and tools, interpreting the outcomes and preparing relevant reports and documents to support business decisions.
· Identify and investigate developments and trends in analysed data and present conclusions and recommendations for action to more senior staff.
· Contribute, in assigned areas, to team planning, risk management, supporting the effective functioning of the team, providing help and direction to less experienced team members in support of their development.
The successful candidate will have:
· Numerate degree.
· Experience of Credit Risk Management. For example, detailed working knowledge of credit risk scorecards and decision systems, experience of liaising with other business areas and experience of designing and interpreting analysis to resolve business issues.
· Experience of developing and producing analytical reports using Microsoft Office products. Basic knowledge of Word, Access and PowerPoint and more detailed knowledge of Excel including spreadsheet design, using formulas and macros, setting up links between spreadsheets and producing graphs in a variety of formats.
· Experience of SAS programming. Including:
· Variable manipulation within the data step, sort/merge procedures and producing output to specified designs (including Excel format).
· Experience of dealing with complex, high volume data sources. Typically manipulating, merging and producing summary output from data sources with over 1 million records.
· Detailed knowledge of financial products, including knowledge of the differences between various types of lending products in a banking environment, e.g. credit cards, instalment loans, secured loans
