Description:
My client, a global asset management firm are looking to hire a permanent counterparty analyst into their middle office team. I am looking for a candidate with broad knowledge of back and middle office operations or who has an Operational Risk or Counterparty/Credit Approval background. You should have worked within the banking/financial industry and have good general knowledge and understanding of the middle / front office aspects of asset / fund management. This is a stepping stone into the Front office for the right candidate as counterparty risk has great visibility within the business organisation.The role will involve the following duties:
Counterparty Information
- Maintain the department?s central database of Group counterparties
- Maintain the detail of all departmental procedures in respect of counterparties
- Assist responsible teams with the periodic reconciliation of counterparties between the central database and trade recording systems
- Maintain SLAs & relationships with internal clients
- Support relevant Middle Office team?s projects as required.
- Provide business cover for other Middle Office team members
- Ensure key risks to the team are routinely analysed, weaknesses identified and addressed.
Team Support
- Co-ordinate, manage and or resolve internally or externally raised queries or errors relating to the Middle Office team?s owned issues.
General
- Keep up to date with, changes in legislation, market practice and investment products; evaluate their impact on the department; and deliver appropriate business responses.
- Ensure that systems ?owned? and used by the team are all appropriately secured and used in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Ensure that all procedures are fully documented.
