Compliance Monitoring Manager - London

Compliance supports senior management in fulfilling their statutory and regulatory obligations relating to sales activities/conduct of business issues and helps maintain the Barclays Group as a ‘fit and proper’ institution in all the banking business it undertakes.
The purpose of the role is to support the BCB Compliance Director and the BCB Executive in managing the regulatory risks effectively through setting clear standards of compliant business practice (in the form of documented policies and procedures); assessing and reporting on the implications of regulatory change; providing guidance and interpretation of rules and regulations, as well as leadership and oversight.



The role holder should demonstrate the following:

• Leadership skills that will facilitate setting appropriate goals and articulating them in an inspiring way.
• Qualification to ACIB standard or a recognised regulatory qualification – CeFA1 or equivalent - or satisfactory equivalent industry experience.
• High quality analytical skills - to perform the core monitoring activity.
• High quality interpersonal and communication skills - to ensure that written reports and technical interpretation is delivered clearly.
• Strong influencing skills that result in winning the co-operation of others and maintaining the appropriate priority for regulatory matters.
• Proven organisational skills.

Desirable

• Detailed knowledge of risk processes and procedures especially where this has been gained through a role with an internal risk function or a regulator.
• Practical working knowledge of relevant regulation and Codes.
• Knowledge of banking products and services used by corporate customers.
