Overview
Responsible for minimising bad debt losses through the effective deployment and management of collections account strategy, policy and process in all Western Europe Retail Credit and Card portfolios.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibility for delivery of portfolio collections performance
Develop and test alternative collections strategies, policies and processes to continuously improve results
Implement effective portfolio performance measures to monitor collections performance levels and track the benefits associated with strategy changes
Identify and evaluate deficiencies and potential enhancements for the BI collections system infrastructure
Seek out opportunities to improve the range payment options available to cardholders and implement those that will benefit company and customer the most
Share best practice with other collections strategy managers in order to reduce losses across all portfolios
Engage other areas of Credit Risk with information that can be used to improve processes external to collections
Involve and lead the efforts in development / enhancement of new and existing Collections MI.
Identify and deliver improvements to the range of account treatment and negotiation options available to collections agents
Support the collections operation with ongoing development and monitoring of a collector incentive scheme
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in the credit industry, a number of which have been spent in a collections related role
Proven experience in the application and monitoring of data driven strategies to generate incremental value
Completion of a degree in a numerate or semi-numerate subject or significant relevant experience
Proven experience in driving performance through the deployment of processes within collections systems
Strong understanding of how operational processes impact Risk Management
Strong knowledge of Portfolio dynamics
Advanced user of Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
Excellent understanding of collections systems and the ways they can be used to improve collections strategy, policy and process
Highly numerate and analytical – ability to interpret data to formulate proposals
