At the Financial Services Authority (FSA), we can give you a unique insight to Solvency II as part of a team responsible for its implementation, plus a fascinating understanding of the future insurance regulatory framework. Make no mistake, your work will drive the development of the major insurance firms and help to protect millions of consumers.

Our Prudential Insurance Policy Department is responsible for designing future policy frameworks – through Solvency II and IAISD – to deliver the best outcomes for the regulation and supervision of firms. You will lead the development of our new Handbook rules necessary to implement Solvency II requirements. As well as training and guiding FSA supervisors, providing specialist advice and fielding enquiries from firms, you’ll help to develop actuarial and risk management standards arising out of Solvency II.

We’re looking for in-depth experience of the life insurance industry, possibly gained as an actuary, insurance accountant or risk management expert, plus some understanding of Solvency II. The communication skills to interact effectively with senior management in insurance firms and explain complex issues to a variety of audiences will be imperative. Coaching experience and problem-solving capabilities will also be important.
