Associate – Solvency II (Capital Team)£50,000 - £65,000 + benefits
Canary Wharf
At the Financial Services Authority (FSA), we can give you a unique insight to Solvency II as part of a team responsible for its implementation, plus a fascinating understanding of the future insurance regulatory framework. Make no mistake, your work will drive the development of the major insurance firms and help to protect millions of consumers.
You will be part of the Definition of Capital Team, which is currently negotiating the Lamfalussy process level 2 to implement measures on own funds for the Solvency II directive. Focusing on regulatory capital, you will lead the overall transition from policy to Handbook rules including work on cost benefit analysis. The role will involve co-ordinating technical advice to support Lamfalussy negotiations, and gathering and analysing technical information relevant to own funds within Solvency II including Quantitative Impact Studies. You will also be a source of expertise to stakeholders on own funds policy.
We’re looking for practical experience of regulatory capital instruments or a sound understanding of the principles governing regulatory capital, supported by a relevant qualification. Naturally, knowledge of Solvency II and the European legislative process (particularly the Lamfalussy process) will be important, as will the ability to manage stakeholders within the insurance industry and representative trade unions.
If you’re keen to contribute your skills and experience to Solvency II implementation, find out more and apply at www.careersatfsa.com quoting reference X0003-1.
