ORX is a dynamic fast growing international industry association, with a current membership of 70 leading financial firms from 18 different countries. ORX exists to provide a secure platform for the exchange of confidential operational risk data between its members and to exploit opportunities for common research and the development of risk management tools. In 2014 ORX is launching a new ORX Global Insurance Service.

The Manager, ORX Insurance Service will lead the establishment and development of the ORX Insurance Service. The Service is new and will launch with the participation of, we expect, 10 major insurers. ORX expects to recruit new Service members from amongst its existing membership as well as globally from the insurance industry.
The Manager will report to the Insurance Service Governing Committee and the ORX Executive Director. The Manager will work closely with the ORX Executive Director. The Manager will execute delivery through leveraging existing ORX resources in systems, research and communications.
Key responsibilities will include:
To be the driving force and energy behind the ORX Insurance Service;
To establish and make effective Service governance, including support to the Insurance Service Governing Committee;
To lead the development of an Insurance Operational Risk Reporting Standard and ensure member understanding and compliance;
To ensure the timely launch of ORX Insurance Service data exchange and reporting;
To leverage existing ORX resources and experience to the benefit of the ORX Insurance Service;
To lead the engagement of new Insurance members in the general life and activity of the association;
To build an active community amongst ORX Insurance Service members;
To identify opportunities for common research and development projects between insurers and all other ORX members;
To build the membership of the ORX Insurance Service;
To monitor supervisory policy and understand its impact on ORX and ORX members;
To be responsible for Service financial performance;
- To build strong relationships with all ORX member firms.

The preferred candidate will possess at least a Bachelor’s degree and have at least 10 years of management experience and 3 years of operational risk experience. Candidates should have worked in an international environment.
Knowledge of risk management, insurance and financial services
Demonstrable success in project and program management;
Track record of intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurship;
Demonstrable experience of leadership, or participation, in the successful development of new standards and or of leading the development of data analysis;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly those acquired in working with remote customers and suppliers;
Success in influencing senior management;
Knowledge of operational risk management
- Experience with databases and data quality standards
Use of general office equipment. Working offsite will be supported. Present in the Bath, UK office. Remote working might be considered for an exceptional candidate.
Overseas travel in Europe 3/4 trips per year, 3/4 Rest of the World. Otherwise as required.
ORX manages and has control of highly confidential data. The successful candidate will have to make specific commitments in this regard and will be subject to background checks.
Salary is negotiable depending upon experience and includes potentially significant performance related pay.
