We have an opportunity for a Retail Independent Basel Model Validation Manager, to work within our Risk Analytics team in our Group Risk division at The Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
Group Risk is an independent function responsible for ensuring there is an appropriate risk governance framework on a Group wide and divisional basis, and that day-to-day risks are managed effectively within this framework. The management of risk is a fundamental activity which underpins the Group's reputation, performance and future success. Our specialist teams are; Credit Risk, Market and Insurance Risk, Regulatory and Operational Risk, and Risk Infrastructure and Analytics.
Risk Analytics is responsible for quantifying and assessing the risk profile and for ensuring the consistency, comprehensiveness and adequacy of the risk measurement frameworks, models, methodologies and processes. Teams within Risk Analytics perform a range of functions including; model development, independent price evaluation for modelled derivatives products, model review, validation of the material credit rating, and analytics advisory.
As Retail Independent Basel Model Validation Manager, you'll be responsible for the independent review of the Group’s retail provision models, and basel models and methodologies that are used to derive key risk parameters. You'll undertake in-depth assessments of basel and provision models used by the Group (or proposed for use); to ensure that the Group’s retail credit models remain regulatory compliant. And that the on-going performance of these models remains appropriate to the Group’s needs. Additionally, you'll champion the introduction of industry best practices with respect to these models.
To be successful as Retail Independent Basel Model Validation Manager, you'll need extensive experience in a retail credit arena, including hands on experience of predictive model development, and basel models. You'll also have experience of reviewing models in a formal regulatory or model governance setting, or equivalent exposure to review activity while preparing models for governance or regulation.
